Solving error code 2,140,21 or 2140,21 on Canon printers

Error 2,140,21 or 2,157,50 appears on Canon printers when the scanner is used.
  • "Printer is in use or an error has occurred. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed. Code : 2,140,21"


Solution 1:
  • On Windows: go to "devices"
  • Click on "Printer"
  • Click on "Stop printing".

Solution 2:
  • Reinstate the driver of the printer.

Solution 3:
  • Turn off the firewall

Solution 4:
  • Sometimes, replacing the cartridge could solve the problem.

Dump this shit! I cannot scan nor print greyscale if the color tint is freshed out. Either it adds color tint to black and white documents or it is a complet liability.

Our model is MX497 and after I retried reinserting the cartridges and inputting the settings on the lcd display the error is gone. This is a brand new printer/scanner and how stupid is their design!!! I just cant correlate how ink cartridges are related to the scanner!

how about using only scanner function without catridge on canon pixma mp 287 ?? i want using scanner function only because dont want buy new catridge.

How to solve error B204 on Canon Maxify printers

The error B204 could happen after a cartridge replacement. First of all, when installing, remove the cartridges from the plastic package, but do not drill any plastic membranes, as this will cause this error when placing the cartridge. The error may also appear if you change a completely empty cartridge: when installing a full cartridge, the printer enters a cleaning cycle, but the printhead has not yet received ink from the newly inserted cartridge.
