  Procedure : Power ON printer while holding "+(up)" & "-(down)" and "help" buttons until “OKIUSER” message apear in LCD.... Press + or – button until “ENGINE DIAG MODE” is displayed; Press "ENTER", will be displayed "DIAGNOSTIC MODE XX.XX.XX S-MODE" Press + or – button until “NV-RAM INITIAL” is displayed Press "ENTER" again; Will appear "TABLE 1" message; Press "ENTER" until "EXECUTING RESET" message appear. the "NV-RAM INITIAL" message will BLINK... 096-02 error is a problem with the finisher. That's a "tray raise or lowering error". Solution 1: Check and clean the upper limit switch.  Solution 2: Replace the upper limet switch Solution 3: Check the shift motor operation and finisher control PCB board.  If the motor has failed, you need to replace it, and perhaps the control PCB too.

The printer is permanently flashing (all 3 LEDs). Message "fatal internal error" with the error code 980 Solution 1: Error 980 means that the error by media clinging to the fuser and the fuser is required to be replaced. Solution 2: Take out the Fuser and lay the two blue levers flat and remove them. Remove the two silver screws and separate the casing. Remove the two black screws from the connector at the bottom of the fuser closest to the edge. Unravel and loosen the wires so you can pull that connector out a few inches so you can get a couple of wires in there. Insert a wire into each of the two holes on the back of that connector. 2 and 3 have wires going in, 4 and 5 dont which is the fuse. After you get the wires in the 2 holes, check for continuity from the end of the wires and the terminals if you can. Make sure the wires are long enough to hang out the case. Use the thinnest wires you can find. Run the wires out of the case and put the case ...

The printer displays a "Fatal Error - 140 Contact Service". The error codes can range from 140, 141, & 142. This error indicates that the Image Drum Up/Down Process is not working properly. The errors are as follows: 140 - Yellow Drum Up/Down error 141 - Magenta Drum Up/Down error 142 - Cyan Drum Up/Down error Solution : 1. Reseat the Image Drums. Ensure they are in seating properly into the drum carriage. 2. Reseat the Toner Cartridges. Ensure they are seating properly into the Image Drums. 3. Reseat the Contact Sensor Spring assembly and inspect it for damage or mis-alignment. If the springs appear bent or dis-lodged reseat them. 4. Try a new Transfer Belt. Source: Oki knowledge base
