Canon Pixma MP170 Ink Tank Full Error



How to reset error 5B00 for Canon MP170 (Ink Tank Full Error):

1 - power off.
2 - hold stop/reset ,hold ON/OFF
3 - release stop/reset, push stop/reset twice, quickly, then release ON/OFF
4 - wait untill LCD display shows "Canon Idle",then push stop/reset four times, quickly
5 - then push power twice, quickly
6 - power off and power on.

Thanks, that worked for me. The other steps I found online were slightly different and didn't work.

never goes idle. just back to error 5b00

Sorry but mine is a Mx410. I have replaced absorber pad. What a chore. It will reset with these procedures. It just goes back to 5b00 and never goes idle to complete procedure.
