  • How to reset waste ink counter:
Machine off
Switch on the machine while holding down the “menu”button until all the leds are flashing on/off. Now you are in “maintenance” mode.
press 80
press the “mono start” button several times until you see “purge: xxxx”
press “2783” in order to reset the purge counter. You will see: “purge:0000”
press “99” to exit the maintenance mode

-2783 also zeros droplet counts: 14th item is DOT_ K: Total Counts and 15Th: SENS K: drops since near empty.
Fixes NO CARTRIDGE from INK EMPTY: BLACK and lotsa' ink.
That procedure is not in the Service Manual , but droplet counts are mentioned in the
troubleshooting as a cause of those messages .

Mode 11 prints 4 pages of mode 10 soft switch settings with descriptions; mode
82 prints the mode 80 MAINTENANCE log variables.

Setting WSW49 bit 8 of mode 10, prints black only; Adobe has grayscale option
Setting WSW31 bit 4 of mode 10, turns off cartridge sensors, and landscape ability
Printer stops when low ink and spits out partial page; next attempt will do
CLEANING first so be sure ink levels OK.

How to fix error 6C10 on Canon Printers

MAJ 21/12/14 Error 6C10 appears on these Canon printers: MP110,MP550, MP560, MP540, MP600, MP610, MP630, MP800, MP810, MP830, MP970, MP980, MP620, MP640, IP3600, MP990, MG5200, MG5300, MG6100, MG6200, MG8100, MG8200... and others...
