Solving error 54.2 on HP printers

This error is linked to a defective cartridge or carrousel.

Solution 1:
  • Power of the printer
  • Disconnect it for 5 minutes. 
  • Reconnect and power on.

Solution 2:
  • If the error persist, check for each to toner to be well installed.

Solution 3:
  • If the error persist: remove the last toner installed.
  • Restart the printer; a message is displayed:
- If the message is "Toner Position x = MISSING .": in this case, the toner is defective; replace it.
- Is the message is "error 54.2": in this case the toner is OK; reinstall it and do the same with the following one in order to find the defective toner.
