How to fix "machine error AF" on Brother printers

The scanner flat cable has to be reconnected to the main pcb.


- Open the printer scanner cover as you would do to change the carts.
- Unlock the blue support and lean the scanner towards a support ("L") open the small cover which will be found in the middle and goes to the left side.
- Beneath that is a white flat cable which simply has to be fixed into the main circuitboard (= pcb = printer circuit board).

works for me, the flat cable was bad connected. Cut of a very small piece of the blank "injured" cable witch fits in the connector. The problem was solved for me.
